Opening for Program Director for new Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
To provide volunteer home support services for the elderly and disabled, and low-cost weatherization initiative.
Need energetic individual who is passionate about community service.
Director will provide administrative oversight to ensure compliance with regulations; select, train, supervise and evaluate program staff; prepare annual budgets; advance resource development; set annual goals to maintain program quality; oversee program activities; and develop positive community relationships.
Qualifications:
Strong management skills; experience working with volunteers, especially age 55+; strong knowledge of community needs; good communication & interpersonal skills; basic computer/internet skills; ability to be proactive and self-directed. Bachelors or masters degree in social service or education desirable.
Federally funded paid position. $15/hour, 32 hours/week beginning Oct. 1, 2010.

Opening for Executive Director of Fairfield Volunteer Center
We are looking for an energetic individual who is passionate about community service to organize and manage delivery of programs and services of the Fairfield Volunteer Center (FVC).
The Executive Director will promote volunteerism and the role of the FVC in the community; foster positive relationships with other nonprofit organizations and agencies; recruit and coordinate volunteers; plan and promote fundraising activities; ensure program quality; implement policies and develop procedures; provide administrative oversight to ensure compliance with regulations; manage budgets; report to and participate with Board of Directors; oversee Board committees; and manage staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include organizational/management skills and experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; basic computer skills including email, Internet, Word, and spreadsheets.
Desirable backgrounds would include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, liberal arts, social sciences, or education; fundraising and/or grant writing experience; training and/or experience in working with volunteers; experience with desktop publishing and/or website development.
This is a paid part-time position, between 10 – 20 hrs/wk.
